Halloween
I love Halloweens with a two year old. They are my favorite Halloweens. It's the first year where the kid gets it but not all the way and it makes for entertainment. Christian wanted to be just like big brother Andy and dress as a pirate. By Halloween eve, however, he'd spotted the old Thomas costume Andy wore when he was two. It has a pocket on the front to store candy. So he was both. Right out the door Christian saw the neighborhood 12 year olds dressed like ghosts. He turned white, started shaking, and froze up. I had to carry him to a few doors until he realized he was getting candy and the night wasn't so scary. He came back early with me and ate wrappers with his candy secretly because he couldn't get the candy open and didn't want me to say no.
These pictures are from a few days ago when Nicky went with her girl scout troop to the old folks home. While they were singing songs, one of the grannies grabbed Nicky's long Rapunzal braid and fondled its textures.

I visited Andy's class yesterday and got to take pictures of the class and of Andy with his friends. I had to laugh at all the kids who had to go to the bathroom but couldn't get out of their costumes. Andy and Nicky were so excited for Halloween they talked about it all afternoon and raced around houses for hours last night. They came back amped up from candy and exhausted and woke up the same way this morning.
